SDO Biñan City surprises its teachers last October 7, 2021, as part of DepEd’s celebration of National Teachers Day. It was a fun-filled activity organized by the Social Mobilization and Networking Section under the School Governance and Operations Division, together with the Office of the SDS (OSDS) and the Curriculum Implementation Division. The activity was intended for all the hardworking teachers of Biñan.

The program became exciting with the live raffle draw from City Mayor Atty. Walfredo Dimaguila Jr. Teachers were also happy with the greetings and special treats from Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez, Vice Gov. Karen Agapay, Congresswoman Marlyn Alonte-Naguiat and Vice Mayor Angelo Alonte.

The special day was even made more memorable with the recognition for service awardees, retirees, and teachers with posthumous awards. Students were able to give thanks to their teachers through spoken poetry contest organized by the Youth Formation Section.

Select teachers were also given the opportunity to showcase their talent in the first-ever Teacher Idol of SDO Biñan wherein Teacher Jennelyn Balantac of District 9 won the title. It was followed by Teacher Paul Anthony Aldon of District 8 as 2nd runner up and Teacher Avery Delen of District 2 as 3rd runner up.

SDS Ma’am Edna Faura-Agustin delivered her heartfelt message of thanks to all the teachers of DepEd Binan. She commended them for their hard work despite these challenging times. She considered teachers, school administrators as well as parents as modern heroes of today as they continue to help learners with their dedication and passion for education.

The program ended with a dance production number of teachers and students from different public schools in Binan City.
